Jorge Lorenzo spoke to DAZN about the current state of Aprilia and that the Italian manufacturer is not yet ready to face or be at the level of Ducati.
The former Spanish rider spoke about Maverick Viñales’ performance during the Le Mans GP.
– Aprilia has to improve and make a more complete bike compared to Ducati. But the rider also has to improve. And Maverick, in negative and delicate situations, I think psychologically he has a job to do.
He added about Acosta’s crash in the early stages of the race: ‘Sometimes he wants to do more than he can. He was controlling that passion very well, that desire to show off, being very cool, falling very few times. But in the end I think that, in that particular action, he underestimated that he had Aleix very close and that he had two riders entering a very tight corner. He didn’t calculate the distances very well, he was too hasty. But, overall, Pedro is handling the situation at the start of the race very well.’
