It won’t just be Dani Pedrosa competing in the MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix as a wildcard. Stefan Bradl returns to the track in the next round as a wildcard for Honda.
As is known, the Jerez circuit hosts a test day after the Grand Prix, making this an ideal round for test riders to make wildcard appearances.
Bradl, a test rider for Honda, confirmed to ServusTV that he will be on the starting grid, acknowledging that the task will not be easy: ‘I’m really looking forward to it and I’m excited. But it’s also clear that it’s not easy for me to ride with the Hondas behind’.
Last year, the German competed in six rounds, two of which were as a wildcard. His best result was 13th place in Assen, while in Jerez, he managed to score points with a 14th-place finish.
Now, Bradl will have the mission of continuing to contribute to the development of the RC213V, which at this point is showing to be the least competitive bike in the field. Having data and sensations in a race context will be an asset to the testing work.
