The Golden State Warriors are having a tough time in the 2023-24 NBA season after suffering a loss against the Atlanta Hawks. The game went into overtime and saw Stephen Curry deliver an impressive performance, scoring a season-high 60 points. However, despite Curry’s efforts, the Warriors couldn’t avoid a 134-141 defeat against the Hawks.
Curry’s scoring outburst was definitely memorable for his fans. Warriors rookie Brandin Podziemski expressed his admiration for Curry’s performance during the postgame conference. He highlighted Curry’s efficiency and the fact that he didn’t receive the same foul calls as other superstars in the league.
Podziemski was thoroughly impressed by Curry’s sensational scoring, considering the lack of favorable calls from referees. He also praised Curry’s efficiency throughout the high-scoring game. Curry achieved his 60-point feat by shooting 22-of-38 from the floor, including a 10-of-23 performance from beyond the arc. In addition to his scoring, Curry contributed 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the seven-point loss to the Hawks.
While many would assume that Curry’s outstanding performance should have led the Warriors to victory, Klay Thompson’s poor performance overshadowed the night of the two-time NBA MVP. Thompson only managed to score 10 points, grab 4 rebounds, and provide 2 assists in 39 minutes of playing time. He struggled with his shooting, going 4-of-19 from the field and a disappointing 2-of-13 from three-point range.
With this loss, the Warriors’ record for the season now stands at 21-25.
