Jorge Lorenzo spoke about many topics recently on The Wild Project Podcast. One of those topics was how he celebrated his first MotoGP title.
The former Spanish rider recalled everything that went on in and around his head when he won the championship for the first time.
– Success makes you weaker if you don’t control it. World champion for the first time… and you get called from everywhere. At all the parties and events, well, drinks here, drinks there… besides, success makes you prettier, and so does money. I’ve been approached by a lot of girls.
He added: ‘I’ve put on four kilos. And when I put on weight, you can see it on my face and my belly. I arrived for pre-season fat and out of shape, and Álvaro Bautista came and gave us a hard time. My coach came and told me “you’ve got to get back in shape”, and we stayed in Qatar. They showed me Rocky movies. I ate soup, brisket, chicken and fruit. But in those two weeks I lost three kilos and arrived in Qatar and took pole position and the win’.
