BYD announced that Yolanda Hopkins, the professional surfer who will represent Portugal in the Paris Olympic Games, is the new brand ambassador.
The current two-time European surf champion and the best Portuguese ever in a world circuit event, will be at the Olympic Games for the second time, after making her debut at the Games in Tokyo in 2020.
This performance, aligned with the values of BYD, makes this partnership symbiotic in terms of the brand’s positioning in terms of leadership and sustainability.
“Yolanda is an athlete who, despite being very young, is already among the best in the world in surfing, just like BYD, which quickly positioned itself among the largest global brands and became a world leader in electric mobility. Yolanda has already achieved historic milestones in national and international surfing, and stands out as one of the best in the world. BYD identifies with these achievements and the values it conveys – leadership, ambition, confidence, and perseverance. It is an honor for BYD to support excellent athletes.”, says Pedro Cordeiro, COO of BYD in Portugal.
With this association, Yolanda will have the opportunity to drive the BYD Atto3 in her daily life, sharing this experience with her community of followers.
Atto3 is a model equipped with an electric motor that delivers 204 hp of power and a maximum torque of 310 Nm, powered by a 60.5kWh battery, promising a range of up to 565 km in urban cycle, 420 km in combined cycle (WLTP), and a consumption of 15.6 kWh/100 km.
“For me, it is a huge pride to be the first ambassador of BYD in Portugal. I totally identify with the values of ambition, leadership, and sustainability of the brand, with the innovative design of its cars, and with the revolutionary technology. We both have the same motto in life: Build your Dreams, which is always what I seek every day.”, highlighted Yolanda Hopkins.
