Tesla announced that it will recall over 1.6 million vehicles due to issues with the driving assistance system and door latches.
According to a statement from the National Market Regulation Administration of China, the affected vehicles include the Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y.
The same statement also mentioned that the majority of the vehicles being called in for service have a problem with the assisted driving function, which can cause the driver to incorrectly use the driving assistance systems, increasing the risk of accidents.
In addition, another 7,538 vehicles from the American electric vehicle brand have been affected by issues with the door locks in the event of a collision.
Tesla has already announced that both issues will be corrected through free software updates.
