Tesla intends to produce a 100% electric model with a price of €25,000 at the Berlin factory in Germany, which currently produces the Model Y.
The idea is not new, and was even proposed in 2020 by Elon Musk, but according to the “Reuters” news agency, which cites a source close to the American brand, Musk was at the Berlin factory last Friday, November 3, where he met with the workers to thank them for their work and discussed the project to produce the €25,000 vehicle at that facility. However, there is no indication of a start date for production of this model, which would mean entering a more mass market segment.
It is worth noting that according to recent consumer surveys, the high price of electric cars, as well as high interest rates, have been one of the factors preventing the adoption of electric mobility in Europe and the United States.
In this sense, the production of a low-cost 100% electric vehicle is one of Tesla’s goals, which aims to sell 20 million units by 2030.
