Designed to efficiently utilize energy, allowing for savings on electricity bills or even to completely disconnect from the grid, the Tesla Powerwall is now available in Portugal. It is essentially a lithium-ion battery that stores energy generated through solar panels or the traditional electric grid during periods when energy is cheaper, to be used during times of the day when the cost is higher or whenever it detects power outages or grid failures.
Unlike generators, Tesla’s equipment keeps the lights on and phones charged without the need for maintenance, fuel, or noise. And, when recharged with solar power alone, it can keep devices running for days.
With dimensions of 115 cm in height and 75 cm in width, it is the size of a small household appliance and can be installed indoors or outdoors. The brand advertises an energy capacity of 13.5 kWh, with a power output of 5 kW (7 kW peak). The offered warranty is 10 years.
