Aznom Automotive, through its new brand Toys for Boys, has unveiled a fully electric version of the Fiat 500 Spiaggina, maintaining the vintage aesthetics of the original car from the 1950s. This release highlights the ability of modern electric vehicle (EV) technology to coexist harmoniously with classic design.
The 500 Spiaggina E-Classic is a reflection of the growing trend in the automotive industry to create products that combine nostalgic value with technological innovation. Aznom, a Brianza-based manufacturer specializing in limited edition or unique supercars and luxury cars, has taken a purist approach to revive the iconic Fiat 500, converting it to a 100% electric motor to attract modern and environmentally conscious drivers while restoring all its mechanical parts and details, respecting the DNA of the classic car.
Aesthetically, this electric restomod is identical to the original, with a canopy-shaped roof, ropes in place of doors, leather seats, and a vibrant color palette. A small change can be observed in the instrumentation, which now features a circular element with a small display showing the speed and remaining autonomy.
Underneath the retro-style bodywork of the small convertible lies modern technology and quality materials. The heart of the 500 Spiaggina E-Classic is an electric motor that develops a maximum power of 20 kW (27 hp), a modest number by current electric vehicle standards, but allows the small city car to reach a top speed of 89 km/h.
The electric motor is powered by an 11 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, which offers a maximum range of 90 km on a single charge, highlighting its suitability for short trips. The car can be recharged in six hours using public charging stations, a domestic socket above 3 kW, or a wall box.
Produced from the late 1950s to the mid-1960s, the classic Spiaggina cost twice as much as the conventional Fiat 500. Its charming beach buggy design, without doors or roof, wicker seats, and ropes in place of doors, made it perfect for vacations, becoming a must-have item among the wealthiest of the time.
The 500 Spiaggina E-Classic is the first project launched under the new Toys for Boys brand by Aznom and demonstrates the company’s support for the electrified future of mobility.
