The Taiwanese electric mobility company Gogoro has proven to be one of the innovators in the city mobility segment. The company has launched ambitious expansion programs in several countries around the world, meeting the needs and preferences of each market. In India, for example, Gogoro has not only introduced its battery exchange infrastructure, but also a new model called the CrossOver GX250.
India is one of the largest motorcycle markets in the world, but it’s also a country with some of the worst roads. As such, the Gogoro CrossOver GX250 has been developed to cope with the rigors of the Indian city, while being tough enough to tackle some off-road terrain. In fact, Gogoro’s founder and CEO sees great potential in the Indian market, especially when it comes to meeting the needs of Indian workers.
The new Gogoro CrossOver GX250 is an electric scooter designed specifically for India and is the first two-wheeler manufactured in India. Horacio Luke stated in the company’s official press release: “The Gogoro CrossOver series embodies everything that our brand stands for and the new CrossOver GX250 made in India is optimized for riders in India with more seating space, greater storage and better ground clearance.” The new model is built around a new off-road frame that emphasizes comfort, ease of use and practicality thanks to generous under-seat storage space.
As far as technology is concerned, the new CrossOver GX250 has a 2.5 kilowatt Direct Drive electric motor. This gives it a top speed of over 72.4 km/h and a certified range of 112.6 km on a single charge. Changing the batteries is an incredibly easy task, as with all other Gogoro models, and can be done in a matter of seconds. The CrossOver GX250, however, stands out for its reinforced suspension, designed to carry extra cargo. Speaking of cargo, on-board space is guaranteed by the multiple storage areas, as well as the possibility of installing suitcases and racks.
