Pedro Acosta is undeniably one of the standout figures of the MotoGP tests that concluded today in Sepang. The Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rider showed speed and consistency every day, finishing with another top ten by placing eighth today.
The rookie expressed satisfaction with his speed and adaptation to the bike, stating: ‘From the moment we started to open all the controls from the second day of the shakedown, it always became better and also the riding is a little bit more flowing. For this, the bike became more natural. We are on the way. It’s true that we are missing a bit on turn 5 and on turn 12 because I was a bit wide, maybe pushing too much and forgetting a bit about the exit of the corners. But not everything can be perfect. Anyway, I really enjoyed making these laps, for this I’m happy’.
Regarding the race simulation, Acosta clarified that it was positive, although the focus was not on performance: ‘It was good. In the end we were able to be always in 1m58s. Also we were trying one mapping of fuel to understand when the lights are coming up in the races. And it was good because I was quite focused to see these warnings and know how to react well. The Sprint race simulation was more focused on the warnings of the bike than on to be fast’.
