Adjectives are running out to describe the phase of the season that Jorge Martín is going through. This Saturday, the Prima Pramac rider set a new lap record in Motegi to secure pole position for the races in the MotoGP Japanese GP.
The Spanish rider feels competitive but believes that the sprint race will be closely contested and intense, requiring a strong pace from start to finish:
– I think it will be super tight. I feel strong, making the lap record here in Motegi is always special. I really enjoy this track, so I’m really happy. I feel strong for the pace. For tomorrow we tried with a lot more laps in the tyre and I felt competitive. And today [sprint race] will be like 12 time attacks in a row. So let’s try to do it again and let’s try to win.
