Pol Espargaró will be absent from the MotoGP grid next season, moving to the KTM project’s behind-the-scenes. However, he does not rule out returning to full-time competition in the future.
The #44 confirmed that returning to the grid in 2025 it’s a possibility: ‘Well, there are options to be a racer in 2025, maybe inside the Pierer Mobility Group or maybe outside, I don’t know. But for sure I want to stay in the Pierer Mobility Group and there are options to be a racer in 2025. For sure it’s too early because it’s in one year and a half, so it’s still too far away. But all the options are open’.
For his side, Espargaró wants to do the best job regardless his position: ‘I just want to be competitive doing whatever I do. I always been like that in my sporting career, it doesn’t matter the position I take, I want to be the fastest or the best, and that’s what I work for every day. Nobody knows about the future, so the future is open to everyone’.
