Since arriving in MotoGP in 2017, KTM has been making progress every year, getting closer and closer to the top of the premier class. In 2024, it aims to take further steps to compete for the titles and has been striving towards that goal over the past few months, also adjusting its methods as revealed by the team manager, Francesco Guidotti.
The leader said to the press he is happy with the job done in the last few months, emphasizing that now it’s time to act on track: ‘I think we made a good job during the winter and the riders’ feelings are getting better and the lap times were really crazy for everyone out there. For sure the conditions of the track and in general were great during the three days of testing. We have two more testing days ahead just to prepare the final the details and to select the final parts. And then the start will be on. So there’s no more room to speak and to make speeches and considerations but it’s almost time to act’.
Despite having a slightly different approach for the 2024 winter tests, Guidotti assured the job was similar and he is encouraged for the new season: ‘We did a slightly different job compared to the 2023 winter tests. The base we have now it’s a solid base and we started working more on the details. But compared to last year’s winter tests, the same aspect is that we never gave the rider the same bike everyday. So the feeling they have it’s only a small part of what they will have during the season. We started from a different level, but we did a similar kind of job. So we can be optimistic’.
