Francesco Bagnaia became the MotoGP champion in 2022 and 2023. Each season had its own peculiarities, but despite the victories, there still seems to be some doubt surrounding the Ducati rider. At least, that’s the analysis of Carlo Pernat.
In a conversation with Manuel Pecino, the talent manager stated: ‘There’s too much skepticism around him. He’s a champion, won two World Championships, last year he won the last race from the front. What are we saying?’.
Only Marc Márquez and Valentino Rossi were champions in two consecutive seasons in the MotoGP era. Manuel Pecino reminded Pernat that now he apparently has all the conditions for the third, to which the Italian replied: ‘Something none of them did’.
The riders manager then added: ‘I think Pecco is quite strong. He’s not a character, he’s a very strong rider’.
