Fonsi Nieto was very pleased with Jorge Martín’s results in recent GPs. The Spanish rider currently has a 39-point lead in the championship and promises to fight for the MotoGP title until the end of the season.
Speaking to AS newspaper, Nieto spoke about what might happen to the Prima Pramac Racing team once Jorge Martín leaves.
– There’s a lot of work to do to achieve that. The weekend was a 10. He was first in every practice except one, took pole position and scored maximum points. The other day I was talking to Gigi [Dall’Igna] and I was telling him that I didn’t know what this guy’s ceiling was. He continues to surprise, to grow, to improve what he can improve, to work at home like an animal, with his physical trainer, to lift the pits and encourage people. A 10 for him.
He added about the fight for the title: ‘They’re both in the fight for the title, and Bastianini too. We have to go day by day, race by race. Marc is a concern, of course, but so is Pecco. And they’re worried about Jorge. Now we have an advantage that we don’t want to think about, but we have to think that we’re competing for a championship and we have to try not to mess up, which means we have to be content with results other than victory when the time comes. And try to give our all and win whenever possible.
