This weekend marked the return of Tim Gajser to the lead of the MXGP World Championship after being the second rider to add more points in Kegums. Given the little less positive from Jorge Prado, and the consistency showed by the slovenian, he became the new number one in the season.
The Honda rider didn’t even got to win but was second in both races, earning 22 points in each race, while Prado on the other hand was seventh on the race 1, and won the second.
Gajser naturally pleased with the consistency showed: ‘I rode well all weekend, and am happy with the overall effort. Going one-two-two shows that my consistency is good and that my speed is good enough to win, but I wasn’t quite able to make it happen’.
The rider is already focusing on the next round of the worlds: ‘I got the red-plate back so that is a positive and although there is still a long way to go, it is nice to ride with the red-plate on my Honda CRF450R, especially next week in Maggiora which is a special track’.
