Ricky Brabec extended his lead margin in Dakar 2024. He secured the seventh time in the eighth stage held today, now holding a 42-second advantage over Ross Branch (Hero MotoSports) in the overall standings.
The American from Monster Energy Honda stated to the event’s official website: ‘It’s been a tough day because there is a little bit of games going on out there, but we’ll see what happens tomorrow’.
Asked to clarify his statements, Brabec mentioned: ‘Tomorrow is supposed to be tricky, so people are kind of slowing down. We’ll just see what happens tomorrow. We’ve got four days left to go and hopefully all is good’.
Regarding the positioning of his opponents, the leader commented: ‘They’re going to start behind us because I know what they’re doing out there. We’ll see what happens tomorrow, we’ll have some fun and stay focused’.
Finally, Brabec admitted that he expects an intense battle until the end of the race: ‘The last day with the new Dakar, for sure it’s going to be crucial’.
