The Superbike World Championship officially kicked off in Misano, with Toprak Razgatlioglu dominating the first free practice session on the Italian circuit. From very early on, the Turkish BMW rider took the lead in FP1 and no other rival showed any arguments to beat him.
Razgatlioglu was the only one to ride inside the 33 seconds mark, with his best lap being completed in 1:33.448s, which meant a difference of more than half a second compared to Alex Lowes (Kawasaki).
Among the three fastest was also Nicolò Bulega (Ducati), with the Italian leading the armada of riders racing at home, ahead of the fourth fastest, Axel Bassani (Kawasaki), and Andrea Iannone (Team GoEleven).
Outside the top five was Álvaro Bautista (Ducati), with Michael VD Mark (BMW) in seventh, ahead of Jonathan Rea (Yamaha). Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha) to be new, ahead of Aruba.it Ducati wildcard Michele Pirro.
