Toprak Razgatlioglu’s impressive form continues. This Saturday, the ROKiT BMW rider secured pole position for the Most round of the World Superbike Championship with a new lap record at the Czech circuit.
The Turkish rider led almost the entire session: Garrett Gerloff (Bonovo Action BMW) was the first to set a flying lap, but Razgatlioglu quickly overtook him. With less than three minutes remaining, the championship leader set a new lap record of 1m30.064s, securing the pole position.
Andrea Iannone (Team GoEleven/Ducati) came closest to Razgatlioglu, finishing 0.665s behind. The Italian edged out Alex Lowes (Kawasaki) by just 29 thousandths of a second to start from second place. Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Ducati) will start from fourth on the grid, ahead of Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha).
Reigning champion Álvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Ducati) could not replicate his top performances from yesterday’s free practice sessions, finishing in seventh place. Jonathan Rea (Pata Prometeon Yamaha) had even worse luck, being hindered by a crash and ending up in 15th place.
