Toyota has just renewed the bZ4X range in Portugal, and announces the arrival in the market of the new version with all-wheel drive, which has a starting price of €55,190.
The model features 80 kW electric motors on each of the front and rear axles. Xmode with its different driving modes can also be selected to suit road conditions with adjustments for snow/mud; deep snow and mud, below 20 km/h, and Grip Control for more demanding off-road driving, below 10 km/h.
The new Premium all-wheel drive version, which joins the current three equipment levels Exclusive, Premium, and Lounge of the front-wheel drive versions, has a power of 218 hp and a torque of 337Nm, allowing for an acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in 6.9 seconds.
The new variant of the bZ4X also introduces new equipment, such as the radiant front heating, a system that quickly heats the cabin. Installed under the steering column and the lower zone of the dashboard, it quickly heats the lower part of the legs and the feet of the driver and front passenger. Working in conjunction with the front seat heaters, this new system provides efficient performance, as the heat is radiated using infrared technology, with almost silent performance.
Regarding safety, the update program also introduces a new feature that helps prevent rear-end collisions when the bZ4X is stationary, for example, in a traffic queue on the highway. Available in the Premium and Lounge versions, this feature uses the Blind Spot Monitor and rear radar to detect the risk of collision with a vehicle approaching from behind, automatically activating the rear emergency lights to alert the other driver. These two versions also come with a 360º camera.
The top-of-the-line version, Lounge of the bZ4X will be available with a new digital key. compatible with Apple and Android systems, allows users to open and start the vehicle with just their smartphone. The key can be shared by up to five people simultaneously, facilitating access for family members or colleagues, or vehicle maintenance and rescue technicians.
Inside, the Toyota’s 100% electric SUV now features an increase in the reclining angles of the front seats with electric adjustment, which has increased from 42 to 72 degrees. In addition to increasing comfort, it is possible to adjust the seat further forward, providing greater versatility and greater carrying capacity.
