Last Sunday, Kalle Rovanperä won the World Rally Championship (WRC) for the second consecutive time. Despite the success, his future is uncertain, as there has been no formal announcement from either him or Toyota.
The publication Motorsport Aktuell even wrote that the 23-year-old Finn may choose a part-time program. In this way, he could complete his military service in Finland, which started at the age of 19 and has not yet finished.
Although nothing is guaranteed regarding the future, Toyota team principal Jari-Matti Latvala said, as quoted by Motorsport.com, that he hopes to keep Rovanperä: ‘We are working to continue with Kalle and everything looks very good with Kalle for the next season, but around the Rally of Japan, everything will be clearer.’
