MotoGP currently has only one round in the United States, in Austin. The promotional entity, Dorna, has admitted its intention to have a second Grand Prix in the country, as it has occurred in the past, aiming to grow in that market.
In 2024, Trackhouse Racing will be the new team in the MotoGP paddock, originating precisely from the USA. Its CEO, Justin Marks, stated to SPEEDWEEK.com that they want to contribute to the sport’s growth in North America and believes it might be necessary to have another round held there:
– We want to collaborate with Dorna and the MotoGP authorities to grow the sport in North America. We want more spectators at races, and perhaps we need a second GP in the USA. They raced at Laguna Seca, and a new circuit is being built in Tennessee, where the Trackhouse group is based. There are some options, but it’s up to Dorna to decide.
