After saying that Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia was better, and that the MotoGP world championship was won by the best rider, Carlo Pernat didn’t forget to address some «sympathy» words towards Jorge Martín. For the manager of Enea Bastianini, the spaniard was ‘nervous’, also speaking of, again, how important the tyre choices are.
Martín who came to the last race of the championship still inside the title battle, but with little chances of making it, still put up a hell of a fight, and was in great shape, as Pernat told Motosan, adding that he believes the #89 was a bit more sensitive and feeling maybe more pressure: ‘Martín had a great World Championship, really strong. He got a little bit nervous in the last race, at the end’.
Pernat then recalled the tyre issue, not forgetting what happened in Lusail: ‘But probably, yes, the tyre choice with Márquez was probably what decided the World Championship, more than Qatar’.
Speaking, again, of a related problem that Bagnaia had before: ‘Even Pecco had that problem in Barcelona, so it wasn’t all a problem. But that’s racing. It was a really good World Championship; because it was not bad to decide the Champion in the last Grand Prix’.
Remember that Martín got out with the front hard and rear medium.
