Incidents are part of MotoGP, and therefore, it was only a matter of time until Pedro Acosta experienced his first race crash in the premier class. It happened this Sunday at the French Grand Prix.
On the third lap, the Red Bull GasGas Tech3 rookie attempted an overly optimistic double overtake on Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46/Ducati) and Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) to move up to third place.
This happened at turn eight, where Acosta couldn’t maintain control of his KTM and crashed, coming to a stop in the gravel trap. Although he didn’t sustain any physical injuries, he had to retire, marking his first race without scoring points.
