The Lenovo Race of Champions was a race held in Misano featuring 15 Ducati riders. However, despite its friendly nature, the event ended with a small controversy.
Marc Márquez was battling for third place with Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Ducati) when, on the final corner, the Italian rider crashed following a possible contact between the two.
The available footage does not clearly show whether there was contact or if either rider was predominantly at fault for the incident. Bulega was visibly unhappy, gesticulating in protest while lying in the gravel trap.
Márquez, in a flash interview after the race, stated: ‘I don’t know if there was contact, because I didn’t feel it, I didn’t notice’.
