Eli Tomac had a disastrous injury last season in AMA Supercross at a time he was making an almost perfect run towards the title in the 450SX. The rider ruptured his achilles tendon, which left him without the possibility of racing more, «handing» on a plate the title to Chase Sexton.
He was assisted right away but he knew his title hopes were ended, and didn’t hide his bad feelings towards what happened: ‘It was a very hard to swallow. I was angry and asking why it happened’. He then questioned himself if he was able to return, and being motivated was key, which ultimately led him to renew.
