Francesco Bagnaia put in a strong effort to win the MotoGP Thailand Grand Prix, battling until the end to try and overtake Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM) and Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati).
In the final corner of the second-to-last lap at Buriram, the Italian Ducati rider launched a bold double overtake attempt on the outside, which would have been at least one of the overtakes of the year. However, he was unable to complete it.
Shortly after, Bagnaia crossed the finish line in third place, but was promoted to second due to a penalty imposed on Binder for exceeding track limits on the last lap.
