Jorge Martín has been one of the main protagonists of the MotoGP season so far. For the second consecutive year, the Prima Pramac Racing rider is in the title fight.
The start was promising, winning the Sprint race at the Qatar GP, but the Spaniard left Losail behind championship leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati). However, «Martinator» took the championship lead in the second round.
In Portimão, Martín secured his first main race victory of the season, maintaining his lead in the championship until the Sprint race at the German GP – which closed out the first part of the year.
A mistake in the main race at Sachsenring, while leading on the penultimate lap, forced him to retire, allowing Bagnaia to win and take a ten-point lead in the championship.
So far, Martín has achieved two Grand Prix victories, four Sprint race victories, and a total of six podiums in main races (seven including top-three finishes in Sprint races). He also has four pole positions to his name.
Watch below the summary of the first nine rounds of the MotoGP season for Martín.
