Joan Mir gradually climbed up the ranks in the Indian MotoGP Grand Prix until he finished in fifth place… and engaged in a close battle for fourth.
The Spanish rider from Repsol Honda crossed the finish line in fifth place, just behind Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM). While he was in fourth place, he had a scare in turn eight, narrowly avoiding a crash.
Despite losing a position, Mir continued in the race to finish fifth, returning to the points in the main races, something he hadn’t achieved since finishing 11th in Portugal at the beginning of the season.
