Ducati embarked on its own motocross project this year, which is currently in the development phase, with the ultimate step being to enter the MXGP and MX2 World Championships in 2025. One of the test riders is Tony Cairoli.
The Italian is a legend in the sport and, despite retiring full-time, continues to ride. Recently, he did so with the new Desmo 450 MX on a track owned by another well-known name associated with the Borgo Panigale manufacturer – Andrea Dovizioso.
The former MotoGP rider has his own track at Monte Coralli (Italy), the 04 Park. And it was there that Cairoli once again rode Ducati’s motocross competition model. The #222 spoke about his return in a video by Monster Energy:
– I’m retired full-time, but of course I still enjoy a lot riding. We have to develop this new project with Ducati, so we are here and let’s see.
You can watch some footage of Cairoli’s test at the 04 Park below.
