Lando Norris, the McLaren driver in Formula 1, showed an impressive performance during the qualifying sessions of the Japanese GP. He pushed his MCL38 to the limit and secured a remarkable third place. Despite his satisfaction, Norris acknowledges that McLaren still has ground to cover to reach the dominant Red Bull team in Formula 1. The two RB20s were in a league of their own during the qualifying session.
After the end of Q3, Norris expressed his thoughts on his qualifying performance. He praised his team for providing him with a competitive car and recognized the improvements they made throughout the weekend. However, he also praised the Red Bull team for their exceptional performance.
Although Norris is pleased with his qualifying results, he understands the challenges that lie ahead in the 53 laps of the Japanese Grand Prix. He will have the Ferrari driver next to him on the second row, increasing the competition. Nevertheless, Norris remains determined to deliver a strong performance.
Last year, the McLaren team in Formula 1 achieved an impressive double podium in Suzuka. With Norris’ teammate starting outside the top five, the responsibility falls on Norris to secure valuable points for the team. A podium in Sunday’s race would be the ideal result for Norris.
