Trackhouse Racing is one of the MotoGP teams without defined riders for the 2025 MotoGP season. Miguel Oliveira and Raúl Fernández are nearing the end of their contracts, and the current Moto2 World Championship leader, Joe Roberts, is considered a strong candidate. Team manager Davide Brivio spoke about the rider market.
Asked by the official MotoGP broadcast if the American rider could be a candidate for the team next year, the Italian emphasized that the market will depend, first and foremost, on the decisions of the factory teams:
– That’s a lot going on on the market, but everything is stucked until, I think, the factory teams make the move starting from Ducati to be honest – because everybody is waiting for what they decide. Then, after their decision there will be some disappointed riders who will try to go to a available spot in a factory team. Then there are some decisions to take: where you go for the salary, where you go for competition, etc.. Once all the factory teams will be set, there will be some other disappointed riders that wanted to get a factory machine. So we are here and at the moment we have to wait.
That said, Brivio stressed the need to take into account the mutual desire of the current riders to decide what to do in 2024: ‘We also have to understand with Raúl and Miguel what we want to do. So to assess their performance, to see what they want to do, if they are happy to continue or not. So all these things are going on and I think in these couple of months everybody talks to everybody, but nothing moves. We are all studying’.
