After a strong start to the season with Gresini in MotoGP, Álex Márquez hasn’t returned to the podium since the Argentine GP, and he has also suffered some injuries that have affected his progress. Now, in the final stages of the year, the rider feels that they are making steps forward.
The Spanish rider told Estrella Galicia 0,0 that there has been progress since the Misano test, with changes in the setup of the Ducati Desmosedici GP22: ‘The speed is there, especially after the Misano test. We made some setup changes because we started the year well, but there was a point in the season where we stuck the evolution a bit. We made a big change in the setup. We introduced it in India, but I had a crash. Then in Australia, it went well, and in Thailand, once again. It’s a setup and geometry of the bike that allows me to use my riding style much more, and we need to refine it a bit more’.
Márquez also admitted that he lacks competitive rhythm, and it will be essential not to make mistakes until the end of the season: ‘I also personally lack some rhythm after the injury and the crash in the race. So, racing without errors will be key to getting back into the rhythm and being at the front again’.
