Jaume Masiá clinched the Moto3 title this year, undoubtedly the high point of his career so far. However, in a class where the competition is always tightly balanced, it was far from a walk in the park.
The Spanish rider from Leopard Racing spoke to MotoGP.com about this season, starting by acknowledging that it demanded a lot of mental strength: ‘You need to be mentally strong. Of course it’s difficult to manage because you have a lot of pressure here. You always think how much did you work to be on this moment. But I was also quite confident on myself and being constant. I think it was the key’.
It became evident early on that the championship would be challenging, Masiá admitted: ‘We understoot the season would be really hard. It would be really hard to fight with many, many riders – many fast, competitive and aggressive riders’.
