Starting tomorrow in Qatar, the final MotoGP preseason tests will begin. Miguel Oliveira, from Trackhouse Racing, will return to the seat of the 2024 Aprilia RS-GP for two important days of work at Losail.
The Portuguese pointed out his target for the test: ‘The big focus is performance. Being that close apart from the GP, we want to look to go fast on the timesheets. We want to put everything together and be fast. That’s the main target. Then in this 10 days period it’s all the feeling we left with is the one we finish the test, so we want to make sure we go to the race with a clear mind and a really clear direction’.
Regarding the plans for the test, Oliveira stated: ‘There aren’t many things to try on the bike. In the first day we’ll focus on getting these little things that we still have to try out of the way. And then the second day just focusing on hammering forward’.
Asked if is there still indecisions about the aerodynamic and the direction to follow, the #88 replied: ‘Exactly. The main priority for every manufacturer, I think is to lock in the homologation of everything – including us. I have to say the idea is close to 100% fixed, but the fact you have the chance to go to another track and check and try it again it’s also important. So we want to make sure this direction is a good one’.
