Sergio Pérez is in his final year of contract with Red Bull in Formula 1. Despite performing well in a way as the second driver – he was runner-up last year, just behind teammate Max Verstappen, there are doubts about his continuity.
The truth is that the Mexican is far from the performance of the Dutchman and, even though the three-time world champion is undeniably outstanding, it cannot always be said that without Verstappen in the equation, Red Bull’s victory is very likely in Pérez’s hands. #11 does not show such consistent performance in podium positions or at the front, even though Red Bull is the reference car in the field.
But that’s not all. There is no shortage of alternatives for the position. There are already rumors about a possible return of Alexander Albon, who is shining for Williams, and at Visa Cash App RB F1 Team Yuki Tsunoda is showing strong performance that could justify his promotion. Not to mention the availability in the market of a driver as strong as Carlos Sainz.

Our team is currently working very well. If he has a secure two-year contract, there is a risk of him getting too comfortable’.
