Ducati had eight bikes on the MotoGP grid this year – four of them current and four with last year’s specifications, practically without updates. However, all were competitive from the beginning to the end of the season – as illustrated, for example, by Fabio Di Giannantonio’s victory at the Qatar GP with last year’s Desmosedici GP22.
Michele Pirro, Ducati’s test rider, told GPOne.com that next season, the main difference will not be largely determined by the bike’s specification but rather by the riders’ feelings. The Italian was asked if Francesco Bagnaia with GP24 could have an advantage over Marc Márquez with GP23:
– We’ve seen Ducati win with different riders and different bikes. So, if you consider that Di Giannantonio managed to win a race with last year’s bike without updates and in the last races, he was always fighting for the podium, you can understand that the differences with the 2024 bike won’t be exaggerated. What will make the difference will be the sensations that the rider has.
