The Central Europe Rally, the penultimate round of the World Rally Championship (WRC), takes place this weekend. It is not only a debut, but also a race with unprecedented formats, passing through three countries: Germany, Austria, and Czech Republic.
And it could be a debut with great significance. Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota) arrives with a 31-point lead over teammate Elfyn Evans. The Finn can lose one point from this margin and still be champion this weekend, while the Briton is obliged to recover at least two points.
But these are not the only candidates to fight for the top positions in the rally. Ott Tänak (M-Sport Ford) comes from his second victory of the season and naturally aims to maintain the momentum, while Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) still hopes to compete for the vice-championship and has finished second in three of the last four races. There is also the return of Sébastien Ogier (Toyota), who already has three victories in his sporadic participation program.
Next, check the schedule (by Portugal Continental time) and itinerary of the Central Europe Rally, contested on asphalt roads starting this afternoon.
