In Qatar and Portugal, Vicente Pérez was one of the Red Bull KTM Ajo riders in Moto3. The 26-year-old rider was able to return to the category, where he competed full-time in 2018 and 2019, but only replacing Xabi Zurutuza.
Yesterday, April 7th, the rookie turned 18 years old – reaching the minimum age required to compete in World Championships. Therefore, he may finally make his debut at the upcoming Americas GP next weekend.
Rules allow exceptions to this age requirement – those who are 17 years old and hold the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup title can participate in the World Championship.
Zurutuza is only now going to compete in Grand Prix events, but he has already had the chance to get acquainted with the bike during preseason tests.
The young rider competed in the last two seasons of the FIM JuniorGP, where he secured two victories. He also competed in the European Talent Cup in 2021, finishing third overall. Additionally, he is the Spanish Supermotard champion in the 250cc class, a title he achieved in 2019.
