Yamaha has once again seen its testing plans nearly go down the drain, quite literally. This week, the Iwata-based manufacturer scheduled two days at the Circuito Ricardo Tormo, but was once more severely affected by rain.
The tests were held on Tuesday and Wednesday, and both days saw rainfall, which disrupted the work plans. This left the team disappointed, as Álex Rins and Fabio Quartararo were heavily restricted and unable to carry out the extensive program outlined, which included several updates for the YZR-M1.
On social media, Quartararo commented: ‘Valencia test… the weather was quite bad, but at least we did some work on Wednesday. Another test soon to improve again our feeling. We don’t give up’.
No specific details about the Yamaha test were revealed, other than that it was hardly possible to run in dry conditions. The next round of the MotoGP World Championship, the Dutch GP, is two weeks away.
