This week, Yamaha conducted tests at the Misano circuit. After a Tuesday impacted by rain, they were able to get more work done on Wednesday, experimenting with different solutions on the YZR-M1.
Images shared by MotoSprint show Andrea Dovizioso with a new fairing, featuring a narrower front section compared to the one used at last weekend’s Austrian GP. There are also three air intakes on the side, aligning with the design currently used by Aprilia.
Reports from those present at the circuit noted that Dovizioso’s bike sounded different from those used by Álex Rins and Fabio Quartararo, which could indicate the testing of a new engine update. However, he also used the version with a longer and higher exhaust.
The next Grand Prix is in Aragón in about a week. After that, MotoGP returns to Misano for the San Marino GP, the official test, and the Emilia-Romagna GP in September. During these weeks, Yamaha may or may not introduce some of the updates they have now tested.
