The Yamaha TMAX is considered by many to be the maxi-scooter that started the revolution. It first appeared on the scene at the turn of the millennium and dared to change the very essence of the scooter. In the 24 years of its existence, the TMAX has evolved with more performance and technology, while always keeping simplicity and comfort at its core.
For 2024, Yamaha presented the new TMAX 560 in its home country of Japan, and the original version has received a series of updates to make it even better.
To begin with, the Yamaha TMAX is one of the most powerful scooters when it comes to performance, as the 2024 version is equipped with a 562 cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected twin-cylinder engine. Although 47 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 55.5 Nm of torque may not sound like much, it’s certainly a lot of power for a scooter.
To make things more enjoyable, Yamaha has included a number of technological features, such as traction control, a TFT color screen with Garmin navigation, cruise control, keyless ignition and even heated seats and grips.
But scooters have always been practical, and the Yamaha TMAX 2024 is no exception. As well as enveloping you comfortably thanks to the high windshield, relaxed controls and comfortable seat, you can do so for both you and your passenger thanks to its spacious seat. Underneath the seat, there is plenty of storage space for your everyday essentials. And if that’s not enough, there’s the option to install carry bags or a top case, a common upgrade for TMAX owners looking to maximize utility.
In true Yamaha fashion, the TMAX 560 is all about a sleek, sporty aesthetic. Styled like its sportier sisters, the bike has an angular fairing, a sleek LED headlight and flowing lines that give the scooter a fluid yet aggressive stance. It’s undoubtedly one of the best looking scooters around, which is saying a lot since scooters aren’t exactly what you’d call “badass”.
Yamaha has yet to announce the price and availability of the new TMAX 560 in Japan, let alone in other markets. We’ll keep an eye out for any news.
